Las Vegas City Council To Recognize Nevada Chapter Of The Paralyzed Veterans of America

Nevada Chapter Sent 11 Athletes To The National Veterans Wheelchair Games

The Las Vegas City Council will recognize athletes who competed in the National Veterans Wheelchair Games at the Aug. 19, 2026, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of Las Vegas City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

Mayor Shelley Berkley will recognize athletes with the Nevada Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. These athletes range in age from 33 to 77 years old and competed in many events, including swimming, basketball, rugby, softball, powerlifting and more.

In addition, the August 2026 Employee of the Month also will be recognized.

The council meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV, and on the city of Las Vegas TV YouTube channel.

Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so by attending the meeting in person and participating in the public comment periods. Meeting agendas may be viewed at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/meetings.
